Waterloo West Dentistry welcomes patients covered under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). We're happy to help you understand your coverage and what to expect when booking your visit with us.

The Canadian Dental Care Plan is a federal program designed to help eligible Canadians access dental care. Depending on your eligibility and coverage tier, it can help cover a portion of the cost for a range of dental services, from routine exams to more involved treatment.
Eligibility depends on factors like income, residency status, and whether you have access to other dental insurance. To check your eligibility and coverage details, visit:
At Waterloo West Dentistry, our fees follow the Ontario Dental Association (ODA) Suggested Fee Guide, which reflects the standard cost of care across Ontario dental practices. CDCP reimburses dental treatment at its own federally-set rate, which is lower than the ODA fee guide.
This means that for most treatments, there will be a difference between what CDCP covers and our fee - and patients are responsible for this remaining balance. We believe in being upfront about this so there are no surprises at your appointment. Our team will always walk you through the expected cost of your treatment, your CDCP coverage, and any out-of-pocket balance before any work is done.

CDCP coverage can include a range of services depending on your plan tier, such as diagnostic exams, preventive cleanings, fillings, and other treatments. Your specific coverage details are available through Sun Life (the plan administrator) or on your CDCP member portal.

We're happy to help you understand your coverage and what your visit will cost before you come in. Contact us or call 519-888-7757 - our team can walk you through the numbers ahead of time.
